Infiniti has big and bold plans thanks to the latest connection of Renault-Nissan with Daimler AG or the parent company of Mercedes-Benz. This includes expanding the company’s crossover line that was last stopped with the new Q30 … sort of.
Now Infiniti has unveiled its latest developments in conceptual form, the QX Sport Inspiration, offering a new replacement for either the QX50, an earlier entry-level EX crossover, or the QX70, previously an FX crossover.
Immediately, the QX Sport Inspiration obviously matches Infiniti’s contemporary design theme and looks like a car with a sharp look. Of course, the production model, if it reaches this phase, will be slightly relaxed. But given how the Q60 series coupe is very similar to the concept, there is hope that the QX Sport Inspiration will not change too much when it is federalized for practical use.
Power is provided by a 3.0-liter V6 rated at 400 hp. and 350 lb-ft of torque, as well as a seven-speed automatic transmission. Grunts can be directed either to the rear wheels or through an all-wheel drive system with rear wheels.
Since both the Infiniti QX50 and QX70 show their age, we can only postulate that a replacement for both is on the horizon.
